The Silent Witness Acrylic on Canvas 1m x 1m
Bassam Challita Feb 14 2025
In this work, the face is not merely a face, it is a map of inner contradictions. Through bold geometry and unfiltered color, the painting becomes a study of how a human being can be many things at once, without ever losing the unity of the soul.
The single, dominant eye stares outward with a clarity that almost feels uncomfortable! as if the viewer is the one being observed. It is the eye of someone who has lived, reflected, and risen. It symbolizes awareness, vigilance, and the refusal to look away from truth.
The fractured planes of yellow, red, blue, and green are not chaos; they are the coexistence of emotions:
Yellow for confidence and presence
Red for passion and wounds
Blue for introspection and silence
Green for growth and resilience
Each color pushes against the other, yet they merge into a single identity. This tension is the essence of the human condition…we are contradictions, but we are whole.
The asymmetry of the face reminds us that beauty is not perfection; beauty is authenticity. The angled features feel like pieces of a life assembled through experience: breaks, choices, rebirths. The face becomes a portrait of becoming, not simply being.
What makes this piece striking is its ability to feel at once intimate and universal. It tells the story of one person, yet mirrors the story of everyone who has ever had to hold themselves together in a world that tries to pull them apart.
It is a reminder that identity is not fixed… it is a living composition of colors, memories, and truths, always shifting, always expanding, always watching.
THE VOICE OF LIGHT, Acrylic on Canvas 1m x 1m
Bassam Challita October 15 2025
dialogue between dualities, day and night, emotion and reason, the outer and inner self. The divided face embodies the harmony between expression and introspection: the yellow side speaks life and truth, while the blue side reflects depth and peace. From the mouth, the sun radiates light; toward the right, the white dove carries it into serenity. A breath of light transforming into peace!
TRUE NORTH, Acrylic on Canvas 1m x 1m

A journey of direction and identity . True North reflects the inner compass that guides the soul toward authenticity. The geometric face gazes forward with clarity, balancing emotion and reason through vibrant contrasts. The compass and star symbolize purpose and awakening! the search for truth, balance, and one’s unwavering sense of direction in a world of shifting colors.
El Ojo del Torero, Acrylic on Canvas 1m x 1.5m
Bassam Challita Jan 12 2025
This painting evokes a cosmic bullfight! a symbolic clash between human vanity and universal consciousness.
The matador’s suit, regal and opulent, represents earthly glory and spectacle, yet the absence of a head replaced by an eye transforms him into a metaphysical being…the seer, or the witness of existence.
The bull, powerful and in an attack position, embodies raw instinct, nature, and life’s unrestrained energy. Facing it is the matador’s empty elegance, civilization confronting the primal.
Meanwhile, Earth at the bottom left anchors the scene in the shared stage of humanity, watched by the cosmic eye, suggesting that this duel is not between man and beast, but between consciousness and creation itself.
both surreal and existential, an allegory of awareness, ego, and destiny, and every gesture is divine theater.
Forgiven, Acrylic on Canvas 1m x 1m
Bassam Challita Nov 19 2025
Sometimes the greatest revolution is silent.
A face divided by memory and light, but an eye that chooses clarity.
A tear that rises instead of falling.
A scar that glows instead of hurting.
This painting represents the moment the soul decides to heal.❤️
Fragments of One Soul, Acrylic on Canvas 90 x 160
Bassam Challita June 21 2025
In this painting, the face is split in two yet refuses to break.
Two profiles share the same canvas: one looking toward the past, the other toward what comes next. Between them, a vertical line becomes a border and a bridge at the same time. the thin frontier where we negotiate who we were and who we are becoming.
The eyes are wide open, almost larger than the faces themselves. They are not simply looking out at the world; they are watching us watch them. They carry insomnia, lucidity, and the stubborn decision to stay awake in front of reality.
Each color is an emotion that refuses to be hidden:
The deep blues hold silence, night, and unspoken fears.
The bright yellows and oranges are courage, exposure, and the desire to be seen.
The intense reds of the lips speak of love, anger, and everything we never said out loud.
The two circles, one dark, one light, echo like twin moons: the conscious and the unconscious, the visible and the secret. They remind us that every human being is a moving constellation of contradictions.
The Witness of Two Worlds, Acrylic on Canvas . 1m x 1m
Bassam Challita Nov 28 2025
In this piece, I explore the quiet collision between the fire we project and the oceans we carry within.
The face is split in color but not in identity, a reminder that every human being is a living contrast: warmth and mystery, light and shadow, logic and emotion.
The oversized eyes do not look at the viewer… they look through time, past the frame, toward something greater than the moment. A search for meaning. A search for truth.
The bold geometry reflects the structure of our inner worlds. The vibrant reds echo passion and presence; the deep blues speak of introspection, resilience, and the hidden stories we rarely show.
The necklace, drawn as a chain of thoughts, anchors the figure with ancestry, dignity, and a sense of spiritual lineage.
This painting is the portrait of duality, but also of unity.
A reminder that we are made of contradictions… and made stronger by them.
